Concessionary parking

Woking Borough Council offers Blue Badge Holders concessionary parking in Town Centre car parks and a proximity card is provided that will open the car park barriers on entry and exit.

This concession is available to the Blue Badge Holder only when that person is present in the car, whether as the driver or as a passenger. It is an offence for the card to be used by anyone without the Blue Badge Holder being present. If this happens the concession will immediately cease and the card will be withdrawn.

Registration for this scheme can be made online by following the Apply For It link or by completing an application form and sending or delivering it to the Civic Offices.

For those residents living within the Borough, registration is free and the proximity card will be valid for the duration of the Blue Badge. For those residents living outside the Borough there is a charge of 50 per year or part thereof.

The proximity card is valid for one year, expiring annually in line with the expiry date of the Blue Badge. The first payment will be for the period up to the date of the first renewal which may be for a period of less than one year. However, if required, payment can be made in advance for the full term of the Blue Badge. Applicants will need to provide proof of residence dated within the previous three months (such as a utility bill or bank statement) and a copy of both sides of their Blue Badge.

Residents living outside the Borough do not have to provide proof of residence.
